Sunday night, offhandedly, Ethan says "I got an award on Friday."
Mom and Dad's heads suddenly jerk towards him and away from his little siblings.
With big huge smiles and jaws wide open "WHAT?!?!?!?! For what?"
Ethan pulls out this framed certificate he got and a gift certificate for a free treat from the school cafeteria. From his 6th grade team (there's one other team), he and another girl were given the award for being "Knowledgeable" (dad says "in other words: Smart").
If I had gotten this award, I would have been prancing to the car on Friday afternoon asking what kind of treat my parents were gonna give me for getting the award. Not our Ethan. He almost forgot to tell us!
So proud of that kid and his ALL A'S this quarter.
